ADOM GILCHRIST
This great wicketkeeper Batsman was one of the most
destructive hitter of the ball in the century. Gilchrist was called up for the
Australian ODI team in his debut coming against 25 October 1996
Gilchrist made his Test debut in the First Test against Pakistan
in November 1999.He is the 381st Australian Test cricketer .Gilchrist’s entry
into the Test arena coincided with a dramatic rise in Australia’s fortunes. Up
to this point, they had played eight Tests in 1999, winning and losing three.
Later 2000, he was handed the vice-captaincy of the
Australian team .
During the series against India, he captained the ODI team
for the first time, winning all three of the matches under his captaincy.
He has won 3 world cups in a row for Australia for 1999,2003
& 2007.
On 26 January 2008 during the Fourth and final Test of the
2007-08 against India, Gilchrist announced that he would retire from
international cricket at the end of the season.
Now he plays in IPL and remains busy with TV commentry.
